Cookie Policy

Foreman sets no tracking cookies and uses cookieless analytics. What the site stores in your browser, why, and how to clear it.

This policy explains what Foreman stores on your device using cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage) on foremanapps.com, and how to clear it.

1. We don't track you

Foreman sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising and no cross-site tracking. We do not profile you and have nothing to sell or share with ad networks. Because we set nothing that requires consent, there is no cookie banner to click through.

We do measure how the site is used, with Plausible — privacy-first, cookieless analytics. It stores nothing on your device, sets no identifier that can follow you between sites, and reports only aggregate figures: how many people viewed a page, which site or link they arrived from, and rough country, device and browser. It never receives your name, email or anything from the application.

2. What we do store in your browser

Everything below is strictly necessary to run the site and is readable only by this site:

  • Your session — a cookie set by Clerk, our authentication provider, that keeps you signed in between visits. Strictly necessary: without it you would be signed out on every page load, so it needs no consent and gets no banner. Clerk's sign-in form may also set a strictly necessary cookie to resist automated abuse.
  • Session viewer state — if you open a shared session in the browser, your preferences for that viewer are kept in localStorage so it opens the way you left it. The session content itself is decrypted in your browser and is never stored by us.

3. The desktop application

The macOS application is not a website and does not use cookies. It stores its settings, projects and session history in files on your own machine, and your agent credentials in the macOS Keychain. None of that is readable by this website or by us.

4. Clearing it

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything listed above and signs you out. It does not affect the desktop application or anything stored on your machine by it.

5. Third parties

Clerk handles sign-in and sets the session cookie described above. DigitalOcean hosts and delivers the site and may set a strictly necessary cookie to route or protect traffic. If you buy a paid plan you are sent to Creem's own checkout page, which is governed by their cookie and privacy policies rather than this one. Application downloads are served by GitHub, subject to theirs.
